“Jalvahak Scheme” and How it Will Boost the Inland Waterway Cargo Movement.

The Jalvahak Scheme came under the spotlight again recently after the maiden services of its scheduled cargo services MV Thrisul completed its maiden voyage accompanied by 2 Dumb Barges Ajay and Dikshu transporting 1,500 tons of cement from Kolkata to Pandu via the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route(IBPR)

This is a Significant Milestone as the Jalvahak scheme will help decongest the roads and railways and help move goods and services through the vast inland waterway networks that India has.

The achievement also highlights a more economical, eco-friendly, and efficient  mode of transport that would help India achieve its Go Green Initiative as well

All in all the success of the initiative highlights the advancement India is achieving in the Logistics and Supply Chain Field projecting itself as a rising hub of commerce
